Ängsö Castle stands on an islet in Lake Mälaren and carries several ghost legends. The best known concerns Anders Luxemburg, the hunchbacked court jester of King Karl XII, said by tradition to still move through the halls long after his death. Reports of shadowy figures and unexplained sounds add to the mood of the old rooms. The castle is a listed monument, open to visitors in summer.
