Old Tailem Town

In the pioneer village by the Murray River, assembled from over a hundred old buildings, the shadows of former residents are said to have come along with the move.
Old Tailem Town on the Murray River in South Australia is a museum village of more than a hundred original buildings from 1860 to 1960, relocated from across the state — and their former occupants are said to have moved in with them. Often called South Australia's most haunted town, it draws reports of solid shadow figures, voices, unexplained touches and sudden waves of emotion. The old Wolseley Church, the Bent Elbow Hotel and the oppressive Emporium store have the darkest reputations. Several deaths are tied to the land itself, including those of two children, and night ghost hunts are regularly held along the dark streets.
