Outside the small village of St. Louis, Saskatchewan, generations of visitors have watched a mysterious light travel along a long-removed railway grade: sometimes like a locomotive headlamp, sometimes a smaller, bobbing lantern. According to legend, a railway worker was struck and decapitated by a train in the 1920s while inspecting the track, and the light is his lantern as he searches for his head at night.
