Between midnight and one a white horse comes down the lane. On it rides a Templar knight carrying his own head under his arm.

Liliova Street is narrow, crooked and almost always empty after midnight — which is exactly when the bezhlavy templar, the headless Templar, is said to appear. He rides a white horse through the Old Town in his order's mantle, his severed head tucked under one arm and his sword still in his hand. The legend says he has sought peace for centuries and that the curse can only be lifted by someone brave enough: whoever dares take his own sword and drive it through his chest will release him. So far nobody has stood their ground. Those who claim to have met him describe hooves ringing on the cobbles long before the horse appears, and the sound carrying on after the rider has turned the corner.
