Olsany is the largest cemetery in the Czech Republic: fifty hectares, an estimated two million burials, laid out as a plague ground in 1680 and extended until the plots became a city of their own. That is where the nickname came from. After death he is said to have kept the habit of taking what others left behind, and still searches among the Olsany graves.
