Maison Seube (Toulouse)

Occitanie · Frankrig · Haunted house

The neo-Gothic house on allées Paul Feuga frightened 1980s Toulouse with unexplained lights in its empty windows.

The great neo-Gothic stone house at 1 allées Paul Feuga is Toulouse's most talked-about haunted house. Legends have piled up around it: it was said to stand on the old executioner's plot by the Salin, a painter allegedly murdered his model there, students were driven mad within its walls, and during the Occupation the Gestapo reputedly held interrogations in the building. In the 1980s, passers-by repeatedly saw unexplained lights in the windows of the then-unoccupied house, and word of the haunting spread across the city. The house is now divided into flats – but for many Toulousains, the old darkness still clings to its facade.
