Hotel Galvez
Texas, Galveston · USA · Hotel · Uhygge 3/5
A hotel built after the hurricane of 1900. A grieving bride is said to haunt room 501.
Hotel Galvez in Galveston opened in 1911 and was built to revive tourism on the island after the hurricane of 1900, which claimed around 6,000 lives. During the Second World War the hotel was taken over by the coast guard for two years. The haunting centres on the grieving bride Audra, who around 1955 is said to have waited in room 501 for her seafaring fiancé. When she believed his ship had gone down she took her own life in the tower, even though he had in fact survived. In room 501 there are reports of taps and telephones switching themselves on and an unseen presence on the bed. Source: Wikipedia.
