In Sør-Aurdal they tell of a girl, a master dancer, who boasted she could outdance every man. One after another danced with her until they gave up, and at last she danced alone on the floor as a sign of victory. Then a strange man came in and asked to dance, but the fiddler would play no more, so the stranger chanted the tune himself. At that moment the girl fell dead to the floor, and as he slipped out they saw he had horse's feet. The tune was afterwards called Kjørstad-drepen.
