Fire crackled from the horse's hooves - and the prayer flung the pilot miles from home.

On Järsö in Lemland it is told that an old pilot agreed to guide a late traveller. On the road thunder and lightning broke out, and fire sparked from the horse's hooves. When the pilot recited a blessing he was thrown from the sleigh, by then already far from home.
