The pink palace in Al Dhait was built between 1980 and 1991 for Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Qasimi, yet according to legend the family fled after just one night. Local lore blames a fateful blunder: an ancient tree, home to a tribe of jinn, was supposedly felled during construction. For three decades passers-by reported furniture dragging across the floors after dark, flickering lights and the faces of weeping children behind the stained-glass windows. Long known simply as the Jinn Palace, it has been restored and reopened as Al Qasr Al Ghamedh – the Palace of Mystery.
