Princess Libuse walks the Vysehrad walls as a white lady with a great black dog at her side — guarding the treasure inside the rock.

Out on the cliff edge above the Vltava stand the remains of a gothic tower Praguers call Libusina lazen, Libuse's bath. The legend says the princess brought her lovers here and that those who tired her were thrown down a cleft straight into the river. From this same rock she is said to have spoken her vision of a city whose glory would touch the stars. Tradition keeps her here: as the bila pani, the white lady, she is said to walk the ramparts with a great black dog at her side. She guards a cave inside the Vysehrad rock where the land's treasures lie hidden — a silver horse, Libuse's golden frog and a golden hen with twelve golden eggs — watched over by a lion with twelve cubs, waiting until Vysehrad has need of them.
