During the British era, the planter's young children are said to have died under unexplained circumstances in one night, after which the family fled back to England. Ever since, people speak of a woman in white gliding along the corridors, of a child's screams at midnight and the sound of glass shattering in empty rooms. Sceptics note the story only took off after a TV channel aired it, yet estate watchmen still swear by their night-time encounters.
