In the abandoned mountain hotel on Dominican Hill, beheaded priests and nuns are said to roam the corridors.

The building on Dominican Hill was erected in the early 1900s as a Dominican seminary and rest house, later becoming the Diplomat Hotel. During World War II, Japanese soldiers are said to have executed priests and nuns on the grounds, and the legend keeps the dead walking: visitors tell of headless figures, banging sounds and drawn-out screams echoing through the empty shell at night. Since the hotel closed in 1987, the ruin has stood with its gaping windows and the great rooftop cross. Today the hill is a viewpoint that draws the curious at dusk.
