Pszczyna Castle

Princess Daisy von Pless, buried with her cursed six-metre rope of pearls, is said to keep watch over Pszczyna Castle still.

Pszczyna Castle was home to Daisy von Pless, celebrated beauty of the Edwardian age. As a wedding gift her husband Hans Heinrich XV gave her a six-metre string of pearls – cursed, legend says, by the pearl diver who drowned retrieving the final strand, vowing the pearls would bring their wearer tears. Daisy's life was indeed shadowed by sorrow, and she is said to have been buried with the necklace in 1943. Ever since, the princess's elegant figure is said to sweep through the castle's halls, as though she never left her beloved Pszczyna.
