At Otterstad it was told of a contest of work between a cobbler and the Fiend. The Fiend drew his waxed thread so long that he had to perch on the roof, and when he flung the thread out a load of hay, farmer and all, snagged in the loop. While the Fiend wrestled with the tangle the cobbler finished first, and the Fiend lost.
