Nyland, Raseborg · Finnland · Slott · Grusel 4/5

The White Lady wanders the rooms with a candelabra, King Gustav III drags his steps in the royal chamber, and a Grey Woman haunts the third floor.

Svartå Manor (Mustion linna) in Raseborg is one of Finland's finest manor-castles, built in neoclassical style in the 1780s. By tradition the house has four ghosts. Best known is the White Lady who wanders room to room with a candelabra — linked to Jeanette Hisinger, said to have suffered mental illness and been kept locked upstairs. King Gustav III is said to haunt the royal chamber with weary, dragging steps, and on the third floor a Grey Woman appears, her profile seen against the white walls. The manor and its English park are open to visitors.
