Norwin Elks, the old Fletcher place
Pennsylvania · USA · Execution site
A groundskeeper with nowhere to go after the Pennsylvania jelly works closed hanged himself in the barn. The reports began after the shutdown.
The Norwin Elks at Manor, Pennsylvania occupies what was once the Fletcher place, a works that produced jellies and preserves. Nothing was reported here while it was running. The accounts all date from after it closed, and they divide into three, attached to different parts of the property.
The first and best known belongs to the old Fletcher barn, later run as a Halloween attraction under the name the Terror Barn. A groundskeeper who had nowhere to go when the works shut down is said to have taken his own life there, on the second floor, facing the window.
Staff who worked in the barn describe the radio at the far end of the building, in the room used for the Michael Myers set, changing stations by itself. That one is unusual in that it was reportedly captured on tape, during a night shoot for a commercial for the attraction. The people telling these stories are the ones who worked shifts in the building rather than visitors passing through, which is why the accounts stay so consistent.
