The old Pinedale site

California · USA · Haunted site

Before the factory it was a military base. Before that it was the Pinedale Assembly Center, where Japanese American families were held in 1942.

The building at Pinedale outside Fresno, California has had several lives, and the accounts collected there always list them in the wrong order of importance.

It was a lumber mill town first. Then, in 1942, the site became the Pinedale Assembly Center, one of the temporary camps where Japanese American families were held after being removed from their homes by the United States government. Most were American citizens. They were held in converted mill buildings through a Central Valley summer, in heat that reached well over a hundred, before being moved on to the longer term camps.

After the war it served military purposes, and later it became a factory.

What is reported in the mezzanine is the sensation of hands on you, and of something taking hold of your ankles.

What happened here to thousands of American families is documented, and it is the only part of this page that needs no qualification.
