The account concerns a man from Ohio, up in the mountains for the scenery, who decided to go climbing despite having little experience. By his own reckoning it was a good day.

Then he decided to climb down.

Downclimbing is the part that kills people. It is harder than going up, the holds are invisible from above, and it is where inexperienced climbers most often get into trouble they cannot get out of.
