Weatherly Cemetery in Pennsylvania carries some of the most extreme claims in this archive, and they are worth setting out precisely so they can be dismissed properly.

The account holds that the ground is unblessed, that evil souls were buried in it, and that there are records of devil worship and cannibalism taking place among the graves at dusk.

There are no such records. Nothing of the kind appears anywhere, and unconsecrated ground in a small Pennsylvania town means a section for people the church would not bury, which usually meant suicides, unbaptised infants and the poor.

An update from November 2005 adds a Native figure seen only as two red eyes in the woods around the cemetery, and a local resident's account involving a bat.

What is real is a rural burial ground where the people society refused to bury properly were put. That is grim enough.
