In Snappertuna, Nyland, Bäckman of Köpböle is said to have had the Devil with him and to have been able to point out how he took different shapes. When he courted a woman, the Devil ordered him to kill the bride, and the command weighed so heavily on him in the bathhouse that he nearly succeeded before she was saved. His brother too is said to have been ordered to kill his wife.
