This luxury hotel in the mountain village of Prodromos opened in 1931 and hosted royalty, including King Farouk of Egypt, before closing in the early 1980s. Local legend holds that the founder divided the hotel between his three sons on the condition they run it together; their greed and feuding are said to have drawn a curse upon the building, and the brothers reportedly met their deaths one by one as the hotel crumbled. Visitors to the ruin have described whispers, footsteps echoing along empty corridors and lights flickering behind shattered windows. Two female figures are spoken of in particular: one said to have been found dead in the swimming pool, and a dark-haired woman in white linen who appears at the windows at sunset.
