At midnight a girl wipes a bloodstain from the wall. The next night it is back — and the Black Huntsman rides out with his hounds.

Kokorin sits in a sandstone valley north of Prague and stood as a ruin for centuries, which made it an ideal lair for the robber band under Petrovsky of Petrovice who terrorised the whole region in the 1600s. When the band tried to plunder the mill below, the miller and his hands drove them off, and Petrovsky took his revenge by carrying the miller's daughter up to the castle. The girl escaped and came back with her father and the men of the village. Several legends remain: at midnight a young woman is seen wiping a bloodstain from the wall, and the next night the stain is back in the same place. A white figure walks the tower gallery and lights it as it goes. And from the gate rides the Cerny myslivec, the Black Huntsman, on a black horse with a pack of hounds whose tongues burn.
