In Kamismark an eerie story was told of the dead Katarina, who lay shrouded in a barn with clean white stockings. Morning after morning the stockings were dirty and worn, as though hard-used through the night. At last a farmhand kept watch and saw a tall man enter, lift the dead woman, and dance with her. Before laying her down he said he would return on the feast day. The farmhand tore a lock of hair from him, which the woman was still clutching in her hand come morning.
