On a farm in Gladsax parish an intense card game ran deep into the night. Late in the evening a fine gentleman came and asked to join; he staked high and had plenty of coin. When one of the players dropped the ten of spades and bent to pick it up, he noticed that the fine gentleman had a cloven foot.
