A hunter had to show a bird the dark one did not know, and a wise woman became the very quarry.

In Strömfors a luckless hunter was granted a year of rich hunting by the dark one, but at last had to show a bird the devil could not name. A wise woman smeared herself with tar, rolled in feathers and stood on a high stone. When the hunter shot and she fell, the dark one did not know what bird it was, and the hunter was saved.
