A fine gentleman danced without tiring with the innkeeper's wife — until someone cut the fiddle strings and a priest drilled him out through the window.

At Västra Tunhem it is told of the coaching inn at V. Åsaka, beside the church, where dances were often held. One night a fine gentleman came in and asked the innkeeper's wife to dance, but would never stop despite her protests. When someone grew suspicious and cut the fiddle strings, the stranger danced on regardless. Pastor Mellbin, who had studied black arts at Wittenberg, was summoned, bored a hole in the window lead with an awl, and drove him out. Clotted blood was seen afterward in the woman's shoes.
