A neighbour saw a great black dog with a red tongue run past – and understood who was visiting the quarrelsome house.

A man in Gryteryd told that he and his wife one prayer-day evening at dusk saw a great black dog with a long red tongue run past towards the neighbours' house. Soon after he was called there and found the couple in fierce quarrel, the man furious and throwing chairs. Then he understood what kind of dog they had seen, and he had to stay all night to watch over them. He never saw the dog again, but knew where it had run.
