For a sack of money the farmer pledged what he 'wouldn't miss' - his own child.

In Sjundeå they tell of a farmer whose axe broke in the forest, whereupon an old man offered him money in return for what he wouldn't miss in his house. It turned out to be his unborn child. When the child was six the priest brought it to the same spot with communion and a ring drawn around it; the dark one came with a pretty girl to lure it, but won neither the child nor the girl.
