Earl Beardie is said to sit in a secret, walled-up room playing cards with the Devil for eternity, after swearing to play on the Sabbath. The castle also carries the legend of the Monster of Glamis, a deformed family child said to have been hidden away, and of a Grey Lady seen in the chapel. It was the childhood home of the Queen Mother.
