The devil thrived only where people were dishonest – and ended up in a dance-house where he is said to live still.

In Västra Tunhem it was told that the Evil One once took service as a miller's man and could steal from dishonest customers' sacks, but not from the honest. When honest folk came he quit, and became instead a shop assistant where the scales and weights were falsified. There too the honest customers forced him to give up. At last he found a place in a dance-house, where no righteous person came – and there he is said to thrive and dwell to this day.
