Johan had sold himself to the Devil, who danced with him in the cowshed — at last only three drops of blood remained where he had stood.

In Grönahög an old man named Johan of Hackered is said to have sold himself to the Devil. Now and then a fine gentleman would come driving, walk straight into the cowshed, and command Johan to come there and dance with him. Dean Gadelin is said to have several times driven out the Evil One by boring a hole in the leaded window and forcing him out, but in the end nothing helped. One night the Devil came and took Johan, and all that remained of him were three drops of blood on the floor.
