A merchant sold himself for good trade, but a witch in a glass cabinet outwitted the dark one.

In Lojo a merchant made a bargain with the devil for roaring trade at the cost of his soul. When the stock was nearly gone, a famous witch came and had herself placed in a glass cabinet as an unsold article. When the dark one saw her, he cried that one who knows her would not buy her, and realised it was pointless to return. Hence the saying of the hag who cheated the devil.
