A man in Krogsered had made a pact with Old Nick and received a scythe that was always keen, on condition that he never whet it or look at its edge. The scythe cut through everything and he became the finest mower ever heard of. But once the edge struck a stone post that snapped off, and in his fright he looked at the edge – and then he saw that what he had carried on the snath was only a great human bone.
