In Torup it is told of a merciless usurer who on his deathbed had crosses drawn on every door and a wooden cross raised in the yard. Yet at midnight, as he died, a soundless cart drawn by horses with fire-breathing nostrils came to the gate. On the box sat a shaggy, horned figure with red eyes, and the farm dog was terrified for a month.
