Borne to Denmark on the devil's back, the priest preached brilliantly from a sheet with nothing on it.

According to the legend, Peder Dass made the devil carry him across the sea to reach his sermon in time. When tempted to cross himself, he only called for greater speed. A blank sheet had been laid out to trick him, but he turned it over and preached on how God made the world from nothing. The devil had been promised the souls of the sleepers – yet no one slept.
