When the devil came to fetch Johannes of Dukared, no priest could help — until Carlsson answered his accusations and drilled him out through the window.

At Bollebygd it is told of Johannes of Dukared, who had sold himself to the devil for a set time. When the time was up the devil came, but was betrayed by his shaggy lower half, and Johannes threw the Bible at him. None of the district's priests could help until the priest Carlsson arrived. The devil accused him of thefts, but Carlsson had good explanations for each sin, and so the devil lost his power. At last Carlsson drove him out through a pinhole in the window lead.
