Riding to a dying man, the dean trapped the Devil on his cartwheel to spin round and round – but the delay arrived too late.

Around Nora in Grundsunda people told of Dean Brandell, a powerful man of the cloth who often crossed swords with the Evil One. On his way to a sick visit the Devil is said to have seized the cartwheel to stop him. Brandell bound him to it so he had to turn round and round, but the delay made the dean so late that the patient had already died by the time he arrived.
