A man walking the road on a dark autumn evening was allowed to mount behind a rider, after being assured the horse would not soil his clothes. Soon the ride heaved like a storming sea, and when the man called on God he fell off straight into Brevik inlet on western Tjörn. By morning he was pulled from the mud with his trousers scorched between his legs – so hot had that horse been.
