The great eel was gone when the fisherman got home, for the fiend had borne the catch.

At Lake Angster in Förlanda a man is said to have fished on a Sunday and caught one very large eel and a small one. He carried them home gladly, but when he stepped into the cottage the big eel was gone. It was the Evil One, who had taken the shape of an eel and so punished the Sabbath fishing.
