Dalsland · Sweden · Site of legend
The Evil One called on whisk, dishcloth and broom in the name of Father, Son and Spirit — but none had three bands, and Inga was saved.
In Nössemark a tale was told of a girl the Evil One wished to take. She had barricaded herself so well that he could not get in. He called in turn on the whisk, the dishcloth, and the broom, naming God for the first band, the Son for the second, and the Holy Spirit for the third, and at last called on little Inga to open. But none of the implements had three bands, and so the girl was saved.
