At Kleivgard in Nord-Aurdal lived a man who was no master of black arts yet still read loose all the black angels. At a loss, he rowed across Strandafjorden to old Svenesen, an expert, who conjured the swarm to Ryesanden to twist rope from sand. It proved troublesome – every stub broke apart – and meanwhile Svenesen managed to bind them all again.
