Two gambling brothers met a stranger who won everything – and a man who conjured him down into a chalk circle.

At Rokkås in Vefsn lived two brothers who drank and played cards to win people's money. Once a stranger joined them and won every game until a quarrel threatened to break out. When someone dropped a card, claws were seen on the stranger's feet, and they understood whom they had been playing with. They fetched Røss-Ola, who drew a ring on the floor with chalk and conjured the old one down through it, however he pleaded.
