The Røken Priest and the Lost Wheel, Søndre Høland
Akershus · Norway · Site of legend
The black-book priests were ruthless with the Devil – and one made him carry the carriage all the way home.
It is said that the black-book priests had no contract with the Devil and could therefore treat him without mercy. So the Røken priest once lost one of his carriage wheels and simply commanded: 'Come, Devil, and hold up.' And the Devil had to bear it up on the one side all the way to the parsonage.
