Provost Stabel had been at Bø in Aurdal and conjured out the Evil One. On the way home the fiend tried to take revenge and tore off one carriage wheel in the steepest part of Juvkamskleiva. But the provost was not at a loss; he conjured the Evil One to serve as a carriage wheel himself, and so he came driving up to the parsonage. People who saw it told that heat and smoke rose from that one wheel.
