At Brunskog it is told of old Per of Mörr, who one night got a lift from a black gentleman driving a pair of dark horses. The gentleman was bound for a sick maid at a place Per knew, and Per took him for the doctor. When Per had stepped down and looked after the carriage, he noticed a flame behind it and understood it was the devil. Afterward it was said that a maid at that place had borne a child and killed it.
