In Vörå a gentleman promised a shoemaker a cow if he dared sew shoes in the church. The shoemaker sat down at the altar, and then the devils came in with a gentleman whom they flayed, throwing the skin at him. The shoemaker seized it with his pincers and demanded they fetch all the money the gentleman had stolen. Three times they had to bring sums before he released the skin, and by then he was already so rich he had no need of the cow.
