Timberidge Cemetery is a small community burial ground six miles east of Catoosa, Oklahoma on Highway 412, on the edge of an area local people call Haunted Hollow.
In 1989 a Native boy stopped on the road on his bicycle was struck by a car and killed. He was buried in the cemetery, in the first row inside the gate.
The gate stands at the bottom of a hill.
Since 1993, drivers coming over that hill have reported seeing a boy kneeling beside a bicycle at the roadside. Some have swerved to avoid him. Others have braked and got out.
This is a real child, killed at a real spot on a road that people still drive fast on, and the drivers reporting him are approaching the same blind crest that the driver in 1989 came over. Whatever they are seeing, the hill has not changed, and neither has the risk.
The cemetery is small, in use, and belongs to the families buried in it.
