USS George Washington
Virginia · United States · Haunted site
Sailors aboard the carrier report a small girl in the lower engineering spaces. One saw her in a pink and white dress, another in blue.
A haunted aircraft carrier sounds unlikely, and the sailors reporting it are the first to say so. It is one of the very few accounts attached to the USS George Washington.
Multiple crew members describe seeing a small girl in the lower levels of the engineering spaces. One reported her in a pink and white dress. Another saw her in a blue dress and tried to get closer, at which point she was no longer there.
A separate account from a sailor describes a guard dog seen during a tour of the ship, which also disappeared as he approached it.
What makes these worth recording is the setting. The engineering spaces of a nuclear carrier are among the most monitored, most crewed and most brightly lit compartments on earth, occupied around the clock by people trained to report anything out of place. There are no children aboard, and there is nowhere for one to be.
The ship is a commissioned vessel of the United States Navy and is not open to visitors. The accounts come from the crew.
