A tormented mistress was taken to church by night - and the Evil One met them on the road with a gun on his shoulder.

In Molpe a farmer's wife fell ill with a severe pain no doctor or sorcerer could cure. At last a sorcerer from Valsåsen took her to Korsnäs church one Christmas night. On the way a tall figure with a gun and basket appeared - the Evil One himself. In the church her body was anointed at the altar, and the next morning the Evil One met her husband in the shape of a great black dog.
